Letter from Tsuto to Ameiko

Hello, dear sister!

I hope you’re well. I also hope you’ve some free time. We’ve got a problem.

It’s father. I have indisputable evidence he was involved in the recent goblin attack on Sandpoint.

You know I have no love for him, but still I don’t want to alert the authorities. If word of this got out, these Sandpoint rubes would assume not just father but you and I were involved as well.

Also, if I did bring this to their attention, I think we both know he’d just weasel his way out of trouble.

But you’ve got some pull in town. You’d be able to convince the authorities to punish him. Together we can work something out, to make sure he gets what he deserves.

Meet me at the Glassworks at midnight tonight. Knock twice, then once, then thrice at the delivery entrance so I know it’s you.

How delicate a case this is I’m sure you understand. The yokels of this town would quickly condemn you and me, and still father would squirm free, though he’s the guilty one. I still don’t understand how you can stand living here.

Please don’t tell anyone about this. There are other complications, ones I’d rather leave unsaid until we speak in person tonight.

Please don’t be late.

-Tsuto
